Building the future

As part of its urban development policy, the Principality of Monaco has appointed the MARZOCCO-VINCI consortium to construct a large real-estate complex called Testimonio II.

This will include an international school for 700 students, a nursery, 54 luxury apartments, five villas and a car park. The complex also includes two towers containing 339 public housing units, which will fit perfectly into Monacco’s urban landscape.

Monitored by Sixense

Sixense is involved as a subcontractor for the construction consortium VINCI-Construction (VINCI Construction Monaco/Soletanche-Bachy/GTM Sud) for testing services, in the context of monitoring using the observational method.

Our service consists, firstly, of installing a Cyclops for 24-hour monitoring of the most sensitive areas neighbouring the site  and taking semi-automated topographic measurements from nine pillars distributed around the worksite. A wireless system has been installed for data transmission using our Micron modules.

Secondly, other instrumentation was added to complete our services for this project, including automated piezometric measurement solutions and automated extensometers connected to a data acquisition unit and anchor load cells.

The new Testimonio II complex is set to open in 2024.
